The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week).
Start
date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable
period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or
clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Under the supervision of the Housekeeping
Supervisor, the incumbent Performs custodial work at the Embassy
compound and simultaneously performs cleaning on seventy residences
under various stages of make-ready including yard work as appropriate.
Cleans windows, floors of offices, corridors and other assigned areas
and stairs ways by washing, sweeping, mopping, waxing, and polishing.
Dusts, waxes and polishes office furniture. Empties waste baskets and
ashtrays. Mows the grass at the residences at make ready and performs
general grounds clean up.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two (2) years of janitorial experience is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Must know proper cleaning methods and be able to properly utilize a
full range of cleaning equipment and products with relation to the area
being cleaned. This may be tested.
Completion of Elementary School is required.
LANGUAGE: Rudimentary Knowledge: Speaking/Reading/understanding in English is required. This may be tested.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must
be able to understand complex directions for cleaning multiple surfaces
according to current U.S. Federal Government standards. Ability to lift
moderately heavy items is required. This may be tested.

IMPORTANT: Applicants who claim status as a preference-eligible U.S.
