What the job offers
MTN is recruiting an Area Omnichannel Specialist in its Commercial Operations team, based in Polokwane, Limpopo, South Africa. The post is full time and hybrid.
The person manages and supports channel partners and distributors, both direct and indirect, to grow sales, win and keep customers, and improve customer experience across an assigned area.
The main tasks are:
- Planning and sales: contributing to quarterly plans, updating tactical plans every week, running sales and promotions in general trade, and tracking competitors;
- Field operations: supervising partners and distributors, checking that call cycles are respected, supporting training, and carrying out daily inspections in general trade;
- Relationships: working with internal teams (marketing, general trade) and external partners, and acting as the link between the field and head office;
- Performance and reporting: tracking sales, stock levels and partner compliance, analysing trends and reporting to stakeholders;
- Governance and budget: applying company policies, handling escalations, giving input to the regional budget and finding ways to cut costs;
- People and culture: guiding staff, partners and suppliers, and promoting teamwork and high performance.
Who can apply
- Education: a 3-year degree or diploma in commerce (marketing or communication) or a related field;
- experience: at least 3 years in an area of specialisation, including supervising others;
- experience managing or supporting several channel partners;
- exposure to informal and general trade sales environments;
- for this omnichannel role: proven ability to manage direct and indirect channel models across large areas;
- an advantage: previous supervisory or field lead experience, and experience in a medium-sized organisation;
- skills: route-to-market, territory planning, promotional campaigns, people supervision, basic data analysis and reporting, communication and negotiation.
