MTN Uganda Recruits Senior Auditor, IT, Network & Data (Kampala) – 2026

What the job involves

MTN Uganda is looking for one Senior Auditor – IT, Network & Data in its Internal Audit team (job ID 7813, MTN Level 3). The job is full time and based in Kampala. You would report to the Senior Manager – Technology Audit. The contract type and salary are not stated.

The role checks, independently, that the controls protecting MTN's IT systems, networks, data and digital platforms really work. Your main tasks:

• Contribute to the audit plan and carry out audits following MTN's method.
• Assess risks, set the scope and timing of each audit, and design the audit tests.
• Test whether controls prevent or detect errors and fraud.
• Hold opening and closing meetings with the teams audited.
• Write audit reports with useful recommendations, and report progress to your supervisor.
• Help the business close audit findings faster.
• Run continuous controls monitoring.
• Represent Internal Audit in project teams and tender meetings.
• Prepare summaries for the Audit & Risk Committee of the Board.

Who can apply

• A Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, engineering, telecommunications, data science, accounting or a related field.
• A certification such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CIA, CISM, CEH, ACCA or CPA is an advantage.
• At least 5 years in your area, including internal or external audit with a reputable firm (business process, information systems and operations audits).
• Strong experience in IT audit, network audit, cyber security assurance, telecom operations, data analytics or technology risk.
• Good knowledge of telecom networks, IT general controls, cyber security frameworks, access controls and business continuity.
• Practical use of tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, Excel, ACL or IDEA.
• Skills: analysis, report writing, communication at all levels, presentations, and the ability to explain technical findings in business terms.
