The Organisation
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.
We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.
Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.
We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.
We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.

Purpuse of the ROLE:
Working in 54 developing countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas, Plan aims to reach as many children as possible, especially those who are excluded or marginalized, with high-quality programs that bring lasting benefits by increasing income, working in partnership with others and operating efficiently. Plan is committed to responding to children affected by emergencies in the countries where we operate.
Based primarily on the three international documents, namely the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030, the International Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), Plan International's strategy is in line with the WFP's sustainable development goal of eradicating hunger in the world. Achieving WFP's goal of zero hunger relies on protecting livelihoods, building resilience and early recovery from crises.
With the new funding received from WFP, Plan International will continue its response in the Adamaoua region in FY 2023, focusing on conditional cash assistance for the creation of community and productive assets. These activities will aim to support the food basket of households, improving their livelihoods through in-kind assistance and cash.
