MTN Group Recruits Senior Manager, Cyber Security Assurance (Johannesburg) – 2026

What the job involves

MTN Group is looking for a Senior Manager for cyber security assurance and offensive security, in its Group Internal Audit and Forensics team (job ID 7807, MTN Level 3H). The job is full time and based at MTN's head office, the Innovation Centre in Fairland, Johannesburg. The contract type and salary are not stated.

The role gives MTN's leaders an independent check on how well the group protects itself against cyber threats, across telecoms, mobile money and digital infrastructure. Your main tasks:

• Lead cyber security audit plans across the Group and its country operations (OpCos).
• Check security controls on access, networks, cloud, applications and APIs.
• Lead or carry out offensive security tests: red team exercises, simulated attacks and penetration test reviews.
• Review risks linked to artificial intelligence, automation and digital agents.
• Check cyber risks in mobile money, payment systems, signalling networks and partner connections.
• Review the work of audit teams and make sure it meets professional standards.
• Present findings to senior management and audit committees, and track follow-up of recommendations.
• Lead and coach a team, and advise country leadership teams on cyber risk.

Who can apply

• A 4-year degree in accounting, finance or business. A Master's, MBA, chartered accountant qualification, MSc in cyber security or CIA is an advantage.
• Specialisation in security and cyber crime. Certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, OSCP, CEH, GPEN or Azure/AWS security are advantages.
• 7 to 10 years in auditing and accounting, preferably with security and cyber crime experience in telecoms, financial services or professional services.
• At least 5 years of management experience, with 3 or more in the relevant field.
• Experience in audit, consulting or advisory work, and in large organisations.
• English and French are an advantage.
