MTN Uganda Recruits Senior Specialist, Risk & Primary Controls (Kampala) – 2026

What the job involves

MTN Uganda is looking for one Senior Specialist – Risk & Primary Controls in its Technology team (job ID 7815, MTN Level 3). The job is full time and based at the head office in Kampala. You would report to the Manager – Standards and Compliance. The contract type and salary are not stated.

The role makes sure Technology operations follow the rules and stay resilient, to reduce risk. Your main tasks:

• Run compliance reviews and audits to check that MTN Group standards, the operator licence, quality-of-service rules and regulations are followed.
• Assess operational risks and plan ways to reduce them and keep services running.
• Take part in the Change Management Board, which approves technology changes.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, and make sure findings and control gaps are closed on time.
• Check that processes, policies and procedures are followed, and improve efficiency.
• Write governance, risk and compliance reports for management.
• Work with internal teams, vendors, auditors and the regulator.
• Put in place and monitor network security controls in line with ISO 27001 and other standards.

Who can apply

• A BSc in electrical or telecommunications engineering, or a related field.
• At least 4 years in telecoms network operations, operational resilience, or network or service planning.
• Experience in a telecoms setting with controls, audit, governance, regulatory compliance and resilience.
• Experience with stakeholders, reporting, audit coordination, change governance and risk management.
• Skills: governance and compliance, risk analysis, problem solving, clear reporting, process improvement, planning.
